Version 12 Build 6 - 56 Pages 24 MB and a Domain name
Q: Who started the site?
A: One of our Eagle Scouts Patrick Rice.  Anyone interested in learning about how to maintain the site is free to ask.  We always need help maintaining our site due to its size.

Q: Who currently maintains the site?
A: The site is currently maintained by Committee member Dr. David Jaffe & the Scoutmaster.

Q: When was the site started?
A: The site was started in 1998. And we hope to keep it going for a long time.

Q: What was the sites first address?
A: The first address was:
http://boyscoutsofamericatroop.homestead.com/troop567.html
After about 1 year we changed the address.

Q: When did the address change to Troop567.org?
A: We upgraded our plan early in 2001.  This plan included a domain name so we obtained the address: www.troop567.org

Q: How big was the site?
A: When we first started the site we only had a few pages.  However, most of the space was taken up by pictures.  At that time we lacked the ability to change the size. We took up 2 mb of storage space at that time.

Q: Why would the site be off-line?
A: Several reasons the site might be off-line are: The server crashes, we run out of bandwidth, or we close the site for other reasons.

Q: What's bandwidth?
A: Bandwidth is the amount of data that we can transfer from the server to your computer.  Basically its like a cell phone plan.  You get X number of minutes a month to use.  When you run out you can't make more calls.  Well it's the same way.  Only we get X number of visitors before we can have more.

Q: How much bandwidth does the troop have?
A: We currently we have 15 gb or about 22 CDs worth of content.

Q: How many visitors would it take to run out?
A: Some quick calculations revealed we could have about 640 visitors before we ran out of bandwidth.  But that's only if they downloaded the entire website.

Q: How much time has been put into this site?
A: Well we don't keep a count of how many hours of work are put into this site, but let's just say it's somewhere between the number of stars in the sky and blades of grass in your front yard.

Q: Can I get all the website on a disk?
A: At this time we are not permitting this.  You can however get the pictures on a disk.

Q: If I was to download the entire site how long would it take me?
A: At this time unless you created the site you are NOT permitted to copy anything other than the event pictures.  As for how long, it would take about 70 mins on a good day with 56k.

Q: About how many files are on the site?
A: We have over 1,000 files on this site, but like all things in life nothing stays the same for long!
